The Standard Fiber Optic Retractors from NJ Medical Instruments bring cold fiber optic light to the working end of the blade, improving tissue exposure in plastic, specialty and general surgical procedures. The one-piece design joins the blade, light carrier and handle into a single rigid instrument for strength and stability.
A flat, low-profile 5 mm light carrier is laser welded and sealed along the blade, and on suction models the suction tube is welded in the same way, so there are no loose parts. The polished blade tip reflects light into the surgical field, and the stainless steel handle has a non-slip grip.
Three tip designs are available: curved down smooth, right angle smooth and right angle with teeth for a firmer hold on tissue. Each is offered with or without an integrated suction tube to clear smoke and fluid from the field.
With 12 blade sizes from 14 mm × 7 cm to 38 mm × 25 cm, the range covers short, narrow blades through to long, wide blades, and custom blade sizes are available on request.
