Nose Tip Marker, 14.5 cm – Straight

The extra length buys a view rather than reach. Nasal tip work is assessed by standing back and looking at the whole nose in proportion, and a marker short enough to require the hand close to the face puts fingers across exactly the area being judged. At 14.5 cm the hand sits back far enough that the tip, dorsum and both alar rims stay visible while the mark is being placed.

Against that, a longer shaft magnifies hand movement at the tip, so the same marking demands a slightly steadier hand than the 12 cm version does. Which one suits depends on whether the surgeon is marking a point they are looking directly at, or placing one while assessing the nose as a whole — which is why both lengths are made rather than a single compromise.
