The Insulated Nonconductive Fiber Optic Retractors from NJ Medical Instruments are designed for plastic, specialty and general surgical procedures where RF electrosurgical current is in use. The stainless steel blade and handle are fully covered with a nonconductive insulating coating, and a fiber optic light carrier brings cold light to the blade tip for better tissue exposure.
The modular design uses a removable 5 mm light carrier, so the lighting component can be detached for cleaning and servicing. The flat, low-profile carrier runs along the blade and connects to standard light sources through a universal cable adapter.
Two blade tips are available: a smooth round tip with a slight downward curve, and a right-angle tip with teeth for a firmer hold on tissue. Each is offered with or without an integrated suction tube to clear smoke and fluid from the field.
With 16 blade sizes from 14 mm × 5 cm to 30 mm × 23 cm, the range covers short, narrow blades through to long, wide blades, and custom blade sizes are available on request.
