Areola Marker, 45 mm – Blunt Edge

45 mm is the top of this range, and size at the upper end is a proportion decision rather than a preference. On a larger breast an areola scaled down too far reads as out of keeping with the volume around it — the outline is anatomically fine and still looks wrong. The largest template exists so that the areola can be kept in proportion to what the reduction or lift actually leaves.

Marking large is also harder freehand, because the longer the outline the more room there is for the two sides to diverge. A rigid 45 mm circle produces an identical curve on both, so symmetry is decided by placement alone. Blunt edges keep the template usable directly against prepared skin without pressing its own line into tissue that is about to be incised.
