Septum Through-Cutting Forceps – Double Action, 3.0 × 14.0 mm

Cutting septal cartilage is harder work than it looks. Cartilage is tough and elastic, and a single-action forceps at 19 cm gives the surgeon only the mechanical advantage of the shaft — which means high grip force on every bite and a tiring hand by the end of a septoplasty.

The double-action mechanism inserts an extra pivot into the linkage, roughly doubling the closing force delivered at the jaw for the same hand pressure. The practical effect is not speed but consistency: the twentieth cut is as clean as the first, because the surgeon is not fighting fatigue. The 3.0 × 14.0 mm through-cutting jaw takes a long narrow bite suited to trimming a septal edge along its length.
