The Hartmann–Wullstein Ear Cup Forceps in the straight configuration aligns the cup jaws directly on the shaft axis, giving the surgeon a line-of-sight grip path through the ear speculum. The cups scoop small tissue fragments, fascia grafts and prosthesis components, containing them during withdrawal so the target does not fall back into the middle ear cavity.
At 8.5 cm (3¼″) the instrument provides slightly more working distance than the standard 8 cm micro forceps, which gives additional clearance when working deeper in the middle ear or through a slightly longer speculum.
