The Verhoeven Suction Tube keeps its length to 9 cm, which is shorter than most micro suction tubes. That is a feature, not a limitation: a shorter shaft puts the surgeon’s fingers closer to the tip, and closer fingers mean finer positional control and more immediate tactile feedback. In middle ear work at 6–10× magnification, that precision matters more than reach.
Three diameters are offered: 1.2 mm for the smallest spaces around the ossicular chain, 1.5 mm as a general-purpose bore, and 2.0 mm for faster fluid clearance in the mesotympanum. The finger plate covers a vent for proportional suction control.
