The Antrum Suction Tube carries a curve matched to the anatomy between the nostril and the maxillary sinus. The tube enters through the middle meatus, passes under the middle turbinate and curves laterally into the antrum — a path that a straight tube cannot follow without levering against the turbinate or the lateral nasal wall.
Three diameters are offered. The 3 mm bore suits a tight meatus or a paediatric approach; 4 mm is the general adult size; 5 mm provides faster clearance when the antrum is filled with thick mucus or blood after a Caldwell-Luc or antrostomy.
