Soft Tissue Skin Hook, 13 cm – General Purpose

A skin hook occupies almost nothing in the wound, which is why it is reached for so often. One point holds a tissue edge and leaves everything around it visible — where a blade retractor would hold more but fill the space the surgeon is trying to see into. For lifting an edge briefly, repositioning a flap or holding skin while a suture passes, that trade usually favours the hook.

At 13 cm it is finger-held, so the tip moves as far as the fingertips do with no shaft acting as a lever. Nothing about the pattern is tuned to one anatomy, which is exactly why it appears across general, plastic and reconstructive trays rather than belonging to any one of them.
