Uzcategui Eyelid Clamp – Oculoplastic

An eyelid is thin, mobile and curved over the globe, which makes it one of the harder structures to cut accurately. Retracting it is not enough — a retracted lid still flexes as the blade meets it, and a wandering incision in a lid is both a cosmetic and a functional problem. A clamp removes the movement by holding the lid between two surfaces, so the tissue presents as a flat, fixed plane.

That also protects what lies beneath. With the lid clamped and lifted, the globe is no longer directly behind the blade — the clamp itself sits between them. In oculoplastic work where the cornea is millimetres from every incision, that separation is as much the point of the instrument as the stability it provides.
