Tyrell Skin Hook, 13 cm – Fine Hook

A skin hook occupies almost nothing in the wound, which is why it is picked up so often. One point holds a tissue edge and leaves everything around it visible — where a blade retractor would hold more but fill the space the surgeon is trying to see into.

The Tyrell is the fine member of the hook family, sized for delicate skin rather than scalp or fascia. At 13 cm it is finger-held, so the tip travels only as far as the fingertips do and the surgeon judges tension directly rather than through a lever. The tapered shaft keeps the shank out of the sightline while the hook works.
