Richardson-Eastman Retractor – Double-Ended, Set of Two

Abdominal retraction almost always needs two hands holding, one on each side of the wound. A set of two is therefore the working unit rather than a convenience — buying singly means an assistant holding one side while the other is unsupported, which lets the wound close on the side nobody is holding.

Double-ending each one then gives four blade options across the pair. As an abdominal exposure develops it changes depth and width, and the blade that suited the opening is wrong once the surgeon is working deeper. Reversing the instrument is faster than calling for a different retractor, and it keeps the number of instruments crowding a large open field down.
