Reich Condyle Retractor – 80° or 110°, Stainless Steel

80° and 110° sit either side of a right angle, and that is the whole distinction. At 80° the blade turns back slightly toward the handle, suited to a condyle sitting almost beneath the entry point. At 110° it opens away, reaching a condyle that lies behind the line of approach rather than below it.

Which one fits depends on the incision and on the patient’s jaw, and a blade at the wrong angle contacts the rounded condylar head on an edge instead of seating along it. That is why the pattern is stocked as a pair rather than as one compromise angle — the surgeon chooses from the approach, and the retractor then holds itself against the bone contour rather than needing constant pressure.
