Obwegeser Pterygoid Osteotome – Curved

The Obwegeser Pterygoid Osteotome in the curved pattern is designed for the specific task of separating the pterygoid plate from the posterior maxilla during Le Fort I, II and related reconstructive osteotomies. The 10.0 mm curved blade follows the natural contour of the pterygoid junction, allowing the surgeon to complete the separation with fewer mallet strokes and less risk of fracturing into an unintended plane.

At 9¼″ (23.5 cm) overall length the instrument reaches the posterior maxilla comfortably through a standard intraoral approach. The shaft is proportioned to transmit mallet force efficiently without flexing, and the handle end is mushroom-shaped to accept directed blows without slipping.
