Working in a mouth means looking down a narrow opening with a mirror and a light competing for the same space. A straight instrument held to reach a back tooth puts the operator’s hand and the shaft across that sightline. Angling the tips lets the working end reach the site while the body stays low and to the side, so the view into the field is not the thing being blocked by the instrument using it.
What these actually carry is small and light — cotton pellets, dressing material, small components going into or out of a cavity. That work needs reach and visibility rather than grip strength, which is why the pattern is built as slim angled pliers rather than as a gripping forceps. At 15.2 cm the tips reach the back of the arch with the handle outside the lips.

Very satisfied with this purchase. Our staff noticed the difference in quality right away. Much better than a few other suppliers we tested recently. This will probably become our standard option going forward.
