Liposuction Cannulas & Accessories: Infiltration, Suction & Harvesting
A liposuction cannula is a hollow stainless steel tube with side apertures near the tip, connected to suction and moved through the fat layer to aspirate it. The apertures are set on the side rather than the end so the tip can pass through tissue without coring, and the surgeon controls how aggressively fat is removed through three variables: cannula diameter, the size and number of apertures, and the tip shape. A full liposuction tray covers three distinct stages — infiltrating tumescent fluid, aspirating fat, and where fat is being grafted, harvesting it atraumatically. NJ Medical Instruments manufactures the complete range in surgical-grade stainless steel, supplied worldwide direct from the factory for individual purchase and for bulk, wholesale, and OEM/private-label supply.
The three cannula types
Infiltration cannulas deliver tumescent solution into the fat before aspiration begins. They are fine, with small apertures, and are designed to distribute fluid evenly rather than to remove tissue.
Suction cannulas do the aspiration. Larger diameters remove volume faster in the deep layer; finer cannulas are used superficially and for refinement, where an over-large cannula would leave contour irregularities.
Harvester cannulas are used when the fat is going to be re-injected as a graft. Their aperture design handles the fat gently so more adipocytes survive the transfer, which directly affects how much of the graft persists.
Choosing diameter and tip
As a general principle,
larger diameters aspirate faster but are less forgiving near the skin surface, while
smaller diameters give finer control and smoother results in superficial planes and delicate areas such as the face, neck, and arms. Blunt tips reduce the risk of vessel and nerve injury and are the standard choice; the aperture pattern — single, triple, or multiple ports — determines how evenly fat is drawn in.

Frequently asked questions
What is a liposuction cannula?
A liposuction cannula is a hollow stainless steel tube with side apertures near the tip. It connects to suction and is moved through the fat layer to aspirate it. The apertures sit on the side rather than the end so the tip passes through tissue without coring.
What is the difference between infiltration and suction cannulas?
Infiltration cannulas deliver tumescent solution into the fat before aspiration and are designed to distribute fluid evenly. Suction cannulas connect to the aspirator and remove the fat. They are different instruments used at different stages of the same procedure.
What size liposuction cannula should be used?
Larger diameters aspirate faster and are used in the deep layer, while finer cannulas give smoother results superficially and in delicate areas such as the face, neck, and arms. Using an over-large cannula close to the skin risks contour irregularities.
What is a harvester cannula used for?
A harvester cannula is used when the aspirated fat will be re-injected as a graft. Its aperture design handles the fat gently so that more fat cells survive the transfer, which affects how much of the graft persists.
Are liposuction cannulas reusable?
Our cannulas are made from surgical-grade stainless steel and are reusable, withstanding repeated autoclave sterilisation. Thorough lumen cleaning between uses is essential to keep the apertures clear.
Do you supply liposuction cannulas in bulk or for OEM / private label?
Yes. As a direct manufacturer we supply cannulas and accessories in bulk and wholesale quantities and produce OEM / private-label cannulas with custom diameters, lengths, and aperture patterns. Contact us by email or WhatsApp for volume pricing.
