Tebbetts Fibre Optic Breast Retractor, 89 mm – Insulated, Toothed

Breast augmentation is done through a small incision into a pocket far larger than the opening — so the field is deep, dark, and the surgeon is working largely by feel at the far edge. Fibre optics put the light at the blade, where overhead theatre light cannot reach.

Insulation addresses the other half. Electrocautery is used continuously in the pocket, and a bare steel retractor in that field becomes a conductor, able to carry current wherever its blade touches. Insulating it removes that path. The toothed blade then holds the pocket wall from slipping back as the surgeon works — and the swivel ring lets the angle change without the hand leaving its position.
