PCL Retractor, 25 cm – 4 mm Prongs, 21 mm Tips

The PCL sits at the back of the knee joint, reached through a small arthrotomy from the front. That is a long, narrow path to a structure the surgeon cannot see directly, which is why this retractor runs to 25 cm while most knee instruments are far shorter.

The tip geometry does the rest. 4 mm prongs are short enough to sit inside the joint without crowding it, and setting them on 21 mm tips spreads the retraction load across a wide enough face that the capsule is not torn by concentrated pressure at that depth. The two together let the instrument hold a structure the hand is nowhere near, which is the hardest thing to judge in knee work.
