Ragnell-Davis Double-Ended Retractor, 15 cm – Knurled Handle

A round handle is unusual on a retractor, and the knurling is why it works. Round means the instrument can be rolled between the fingers to change the working angle without releasing it — useful when one end is in the wound and the approach needs adjusting. Knurling is what stops that rolling happening by accident once the field is wet.

Two working ends then give two options without an instrument change, which is the point of a double-ended pattern in a confined field: the surgeon reverses the instrument rather than reaching back to the tray. At 15 cm it stays finger-controlled, and the tips are delicate enough for soft tissue that would mark under a heavier blade.
